UK: Abortions for under-14 girls have soared by 21%
If that heading doesn’t disturb you, maybe this one will: No medical grounds for 70 per cent of late terminations.
I can’t believe that even pro-abortion groups would be thrilled to read that in the England and Wales, there was a 10% increase in abortions in girls under 16 years old.
According to this article, Abortions for under-14 girls have soared by 21 per cent, “There were 4,376 pregnancies ended by abortion for girls who were legally too young to have sex. Of these, 163 were under 14, a rise of 21 per cent on the 2006 figure of 135.”
Even more frightening? Many of these young women have had more than one abortion before they turned 18. A woman interviewed for the article stated that she had her first abortion at age 14 and then went on to have three more.
In the light of the teen pregnancy pact (Did group of teens make pact to get pregnant? and Pregnancy pact making news all over the world), this has me really wondering what is going on.
If you have the time, read the article and come back and let me know what you think. I’d really like to get a grasp on what the public thinks of this. Maybe I’m in the dark ages, but this seems to be just too much for me.
