Recipe: Date Smoothie
Why eat dates during pregnancy?
Dates can be a fantastic addition to your pregnancy diet for several reasons. Rich in essential nutrients and natural sugars, they provide a quick energy boost when you need it most. They're great for digestion, too, thanks to their high fiber content, which can help with pregnancy-related digestive woes.
Studies suggest that consuming 4-6 dates per day in the weeks leading up to labor might help promote cervical ripening and reduce the need for medical interventions. So not only are they a delicious snack, but they can also support a smoother journey into motherhood.
This recipe is for those who may not like how sweet dates can be. The smoothie gives a great balance to the dates with the added ginger, pineapple and kale.
