Meet the Instructors
Hi, I’m Jess! I am passionate about all things that surround birth. Becoming a Certified Childbirth Educator is an integral part of my practice when supporting moms and families. Childbirth classes are so important whether this is your first baby or not. The main goal of my classes is to provide information that leads to informed consent during labor and delivery which leads to you trusting your intuition.
Whether you have a dream about what birth may look like or have never thought about the choices to be made with your baby, I am here to be your guide and together we will clear those fears surrounding birth. I believe every mom has everything in them to birth their baby. Birth is about surrender and trust in the process of labor and being educated about the decisions and variations of labor can lead you feeling more prepared. While my classes incorporate all elements including newborn feeding, soothing a baby, and newborn care; what to expect with postpartum healing and mental health is a focus I bring to all classes and support.
Hey, I’m TaKara! I am passionate about educating and empowering parents during such a magical time in their lives. I strive to reduce fears, raise your confidence, and get you excited about birth and life with a newborn. There is no better place to do this than a comprehensive, in-person birth class!
I teach from a multifacted view: evidence-based education entertwined with generational wisdom and a parent’s intuition. I am super friendly, hands-on, and love it when parents ask me questions in class. Odds are, you aren’t the only one in the room with the same question! If I don’t have the answer, I will go the extra mile to find it for you.
Womb to World Birth Class will have you walking into your birth space & beyond with confidence and excitement!
FAQs
-
It’s never too early to start educating yourself on the process of labor and birth.
Generally, it’s a good idea to begin some form of education for you and your birth partner by about 20-24 weeks with the aim to have your labor preparation finished by 36 weeks.
The 4-week class format gives you time to process what you have learned and think about how you will implement it on the day your baby arrives.
Ideally, you should start birthing classes in your second or third trimester. If you are 38 weeks, take the 2-day class!
-
Research shows that a positive birth experience – regardless of where and how – is dependent on two things: the birthing person being able to make informed decisions. Knowledge is power.Birthing classes give you accessible evidence-based information, language to confidently discuss your birth preferences with your care provider and practical skills to navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
This class doesn’t just cover one variation of labor and birth! It covers inductions, cesareans, postpartum recovery, and feeding your baby.
-
If you are having a planned cesarean, it is still so important to go into birth with knowledge and power. I recommend a private class for more time to expand on cesareans and less time on physiological birth.
Part of the class includes what to expect postpartum, newborn care, soothing, lactation, and coping tools for you and your partner to ease that transition.
-
Birth classes are non-refundable. If you are not able to make it to the class, you may join the next class series.
